In December 2015, Dr. Opitz opened Norwood Park Eye Center with a mission of providing the highest quality eye care in the wonderful community of Norwood Park. Good old-fashioned word of mouth marketing from patients like you, has enabled the office to grow beyond Dr. Opitz’s wildest of dreams. Due to the growth of Norwood Park Eye Center, the demands of practice ownership, faculty responsibilities at the Illinois College of Optometry and family life, Dr. Opitz has elected to transfer ownership of Norwood Park Eye Center to Dr. Ruchi Shah. With Dr. Shah, the office will have more doctor appointments available and allow for continued growth under her leadership. Dr. Opitz will continue to see patients at Norwood Park Eye Center and maintain his faculty appointment at the Illinois College of Optometry but will be able to spend more quality time with his wife and three children.

 

We are thrilled to introduce Dr. Shah! She has practiced in various settings such as academia, ophthalmology, retail and is excited to take on this new adventure of practice ownership. With 10 years of experience, she brings expertise in ocular disease, emergency eye care, myopia management, specialty contact lens fits and dry eye disease. She is passionate about building lasting relationships with patients and providing personalized care. She is eager to get to know each patient’s unique needs and develop individualized treatment plans. Dr. Shah has 2 small children and feels comfortable seeing patients of all ages!

Our commitment to your ocular health and well-being remains unchanged. Dr. Shah is dedicated to maintaining the same level of expertise and compassion that you have grown accustomed to.

 

You may notice some updates and improvements in the practice over time, but our core values and focus on patient care will remain the same. We are excited about this new chapter and look forward to continuing to serve your healthcare needs.
