At Norwood Park Eye Center in Chicago, IL, we accept a range of Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) medical insurances to ensure that you receive the highest quality eye care without financial stress. Our accepted medical insurances include:

VISION INSURANCES ACCEPTED

For your vision care needs, Norwood Park Eye Center accepts the following vision insurance plans:

  • Vision Service Plan (VSP)

Vision Insurance Exam

1.⁠ ⁠Routine vision exams for glasses and contact lenses
2.⁠ ⁠Checks for refractive errors (nearsightedness, farsightedness, astigmatism)
3.⁠ ⁠Frame and lens coverage
4.⁠ ⁠Contact lens fitting and coverage
5.⁠ ⁠Typically covered once a year
 
Examples of conditions covered:
1.⁠ ⁠Myopia (nearsightedness)
2.⁠ ⁠Hyperopia (farsightedness)
3.⁠ ⁠Astigmatism
4.⁠ ⁠Presbyopia (age-related vision loss)

Medical Insurance Exam

1.⁠ ⁠Medically necessary exams for eye diseases or conditions
2.⁠ ⁠Comprehensive eye health evaluation
3.⁠ ⁠Diagnostic testing (e.g., OCT, visual field, fundus photography)
4.⁠ ⁠Treatment for eye diseases or injuries
5.⁠ ⁠Typically covered as needed, based on medical necessity

3.⁠ ⁠Diabetic retinopathy

Our office will bill your Medical Insurance when

1.⁠ ⁠You have a medical eye condition (e.g., cataracts, glaucoma, diabetes)
2.⁠ ⁠You experience eye pain, redness or discharge.
3.⁠ ⁠Blurry vision is due to a condition that is not fixed my glasses or contact lenses
 
In most cases, medical insurances can be used for comprehensive eye exams.
